Chelsea Avery Assignment 9

History goes to show that war always has been, and likely always will be a thing. It seems as if sometimes it is the only way to get the attention of others and the only way to make a point. In a perfect world, diplomacy would be the answer and every country would be able to resolve conflicts peacefully. This is possible in some cases, for example, through the leadership of Gandhi in India. However, this will not always be the case as the world will continue to create bigger guns to go with their bigger conflicts.
In a sense, you could argue that it is a country's responsibility to go to war when their people's safety is at risk. Or maybe when their freedoms are infringed upon, such as when the Americans fought for their independence in the American Revolution.
There is definitely a limit to how appropriate war is. For example, during the Cold War, the nations involved developed enough weapons to destroy the entire Earth. That is for sure going too far.
