Assignment 12: Naylan James

Today, my car keys had the best day of their life. As I sat on the couch after a long of school, my keys managed to climb out of my pocket. They saw the crack in between the couch cushions, they knew they could make it there. As they rolled and climbed and clawed, I reached down and grabbed them. They couldn't make it. But then they patiently waited. They knew their time would come. Finally, I decided to get up to grab food, and just when the angle was perfect, they jumped. It was perfect, they were headed straight for the crack. As they fell through they entered a new type of hell. They didn't know what would lie ahead, for everything was dark. They suffocated and waited for what must've been years. At last, I noticed they were missing and shined my flashlight through the crack. What my poor keys were forced to witness next would scare any poor soul. Half eaten gold fish everywhere, coins that seemed to be covered in some sort of tar that would rip the skin off any creature who would touch it. At this point, my hand finally brushed the keys, I pulled them up, and put them in my pocket. Never again would they take the safety of my pocket for granted.
