Assignment 14- James Gooding

Up until last year, my Thanksgivings had always been perfect. We followed the norm of eating unhealthy amounts of food, visiting family, and taking a break from school life. Last year was the first year that my sister, Caty-Beth, came home from college for Thanksgiving. Now, my thanksgivings are ruined.
My sister and I are very different people, but it has never been much of an issue until she left for college. I am COMPLETELY IRRITATED at the way that she treats people, especially my parents. From the moment we pick her up, she complains about anything. Not only that, but she transfers that rudeness to my parents, who just want to talk to her. Her thought process must be “How about I treat the people who give me money and feed me like complete crap the entire time I’m with them? I think they’ll appreciate that.” To me, thanksgiving should be about being thankful for the privileges you are given, not complaining about them. Caty is my sister, and I do still love her, but having her at home during the holidays is absolutely unbearable.
