Assignment 9: Jackson Leach

War has been the foundation of the civilizations of the world for thousands of years, and I believe firmly that there are appropriate times to take action in this way. After all, war is a form of politics and without it there would be no way to draw the borders on the map and recognize countries as they are today. Since World War II, both America and Great Britain have taken up somewhat of a policemen-of-the-world responsibility, as they see it is their duty to protect developing countries and stop evil from spreading throughout the world being the greatest and most powerful countries. Numerous times they have engaged in conflicts not directly affecting them, which shows how they have this mindset. I believe that in most cases this is warranted, because if the greatest countries in the world don't look out for the victims of injustice in the world, who will? An armed conflict can also resolve issues that stall governments for years.
