Assignment 4: Dylan Ruddy

Im not exactly sure if you are able to see this picture. but if you can't it is a man standing infront of  line of tanks in the middle of the street.

This picture really shocked me because he is openly defying his national government, which in this case is China, To stand up for what he believes in. The thing that surprises me the most is he has what appears to be shopping bags in his hands which leads me to believe that he was just going about his daily tasks, Also if you note that no-one else is around him in the street it shows that not only did he stay on the street when others hid, but he stepped infant of the tank.

I also think it is important to note the compassion of the tank driver who did not just run the man over but stopped and tried to get around another way. Later this man would be carried off for his defiance and executed but not before he was able to inspire the people of China to stand up against the government.
