Assignment 4- Ben Lambert

The picture above depicts a missionary holding the hand of a child in Africa. This is regarded as a very powerful and moving image because one can see the stark contrast between the hands of the two. The missionary appears healthy and well, while the child's hand looks skeleton-like and malnourished. This portrays the struggle that many Africans must go through in their attempts to find food. It leaves viewers with a sad, almost guilty feeling. Looking at it, I find myself wanting to make a change in the world so that those children have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. I think that many other viewers feel the same way. The picture speaks for itself.
