Caden Reynolds- Assignment 3

The absolute definition of good and evil is a constant debate in our society. Who is good? Who is evil? There will never be a universal continuity on this topic because everyone thinks differently, everyone lives under different conditions.
Let me give you a scenario: You see someone who looks rough and seems not very trustworthy walk into a gas station. You then see him stuffing cans of food into his pockets as fast as he can. He then sprints out of the store without paying. You consider calling the police because what this person did was very wrong. You consider this person bad right? After following him home you find him in a small shed with another woman and what seems like his two kids. You figure out he was stealing those cans of food for his family's survival. Is he still a bad person?
In any war in history, there are at least two sides. At least two sides who think they are at war because their opponent(s) is "evil" and they are "good". They would not be fighting if they believed they were wrong or evil. Although you could resort to the side with the best morals, or the side with most supporters or advocates, there will still be people who disagree.
In a utopian society, everyone agrees with each other, everyone can find some sort of common ground in their differing opinions. Everyone considers everyone else "good". But unfortunately, we do not live like that. But I believe we can prosper in a world where their is differing opinions and different sides. In politics, things are best discussed when there are people disagreeing with one another.
