Assignment 26- Ben Lambert

My favorite things from the class this year were, essentially, the things that didn't involve English. All the tangents touched upon in class were appreciated. I think that nowadays teachers are very reluctant to stray away from subject matter, for whatever reason it may be. The reason I liked them so much were because they were so random yet intellectually stimulating, which I believe is what education's most important responsibility is. I also like the Socratic seminars. I wasn't always huge fans of the partner-systems and grading criteria, but the discussions were fun and, once again, intellectually stimulating. I am a very social person and had fun conversing over certain pieces and issues with classmates. Although I dreaded every essay we wrote and every benchmark we read, I am without doubt that those helped prepare me for the exam. Apart from the school part, I really liked the atmosphere of the class over the year. This class always seemed like one in which people were comfortable speaking up and being themselves.
