Assignment 24: Sabrina Lozada

Junior year has been the typical junior year. Some stress here and there, ranging from Unit assignments in APUSH to applications to AP tests. I told myself I would be more organized this year but Unit Assignments were – god I'm glad that I can say that in past tense-  solid example of that failure. However, I did succeed in making it through Junior year alive.
The highlight of my junior year was probably my acceptance into NSLI-Y, a government funded program to study abroad for either a summer or an academic year. I applied to study for a summer in Korea which is one of the most competitive programs. Upon receiving the semi-finalist notification I remembered I cried a little, surprised I made it as a first time applicant. At that stage there was an interview to be completed which was very difficult to schedule but I ended up being over the phone. That interview made me realize the lack of over the phone conversation skills and one that I would work on because I'm sure I will need that. My interview was so short that I felt the rejection letter coming. Instead of a rejection letter, 4 months after submitting that application the coveted acceptance letter came. It was a stressful process but it payed off. So for my summer plans, I will be in Korea for a little over 6 weeks.
For senior year I hope to have a successful mentoring project, which I will have to work on those procrastination habits if I want everything to work well, and to enjoy senior year.
