1.
The Wire by Hiam
This starts my playlist off with some good ‘ol nostalgia. I heard this
song almost every day for months my freshman year because we performed a choreographed
dance to it as a warmup.
2.
Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
This is a classic hype song, and will do a great job of shaking away all nostalgia
garnered after the first song in this playlist.
3.
Working for the Weekend by Loverboy
This will help bring about more of the serious nature one should have at
competitions. Being excited is good, but one needs a focused energy in order
for a successful run-through.
4.
Runnin’ Down a Dream by Tom Petty and the
Heartbreakers
This will help further channel the energy one is likely feeling at this
point in the playlist and competition experience. It will subconsciously make
the reader think about the marching season as a whole. While it is an arduous process,
it is an amazing one which should create positive emotions.
5.
You’re the Best by Joe Esposito, Karate Kid
soundtrack
This
will end the playlist on a high note, giving the listener a last adrenaline rush
before the show.
