Colton Warner- Assignment 21

Right now somewhere in the universe, a boy inches his way up an aged magnolia tree. Each stem passed, he takes greater caution and weighs the perils below. Warm spring rays of sun seep through the leaf coverage closer to him, reflecting patches of the dirt-stained khaki shorts and the soft blood marks that never seem to matter anymore. He looks up and down and around at the green, yellow, brown flavors of the perennial structure, and he glimpses upon the etchings and engravings. They seem familiar and infinite. As he keeps climbing, the leaves erode into a wide landscape. It was different than the last time and maybe was even changing now with a soft breeze and the sounds of construction approaching. But here, he in this enduring tree, he feels stable and known. After minutes on top, he gently lowers back through the kaleidoscope and reaches the wet ground. He paces away.
