Assignment 19- Henry Macfarlan

When I was about 8, I was riding in the car with some friends and their dad, who to this day still plays in a couple bands round lexington.  When he was younger however, he was touring with a group, and during this they drove around in a small van to different small venues to play small shows.  However he described it as one of the best times of his life, they did not have much, sometimes they slept on the beach or stuffed too many people in a hotel room.  At the end of a series of anecdotes, he said, "you know you can work your whole life at a job,  get rich, buy a couple houses, and go live on the beach when your old and retired, or you can just go live on the beach."  This was meant as a joke, or at least to be taken with a grain of salt, however, it stuck with me.  It has kept me going knowing that even if things do not work out at school or I do not get the job I want, I can always just go live on the beach.
