Assignment 17 Connor Haney

My review of Split
Going into the movie I had already been introduced to an M. Night Shyamalan movies through films like The Happening and Signs, with both of them being subpar in my eyes. Split seemed to have the best plot of all. This film is about a man named Kevin Wendell Crumb who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder and has 24 total different personalities. He kidnaps three girls who he deems "impure," and is going to feed them to "The Beast."Shyamalan's works were normally horror-thrillers but this one seemed more of just a thriller with no horror added to it. Shyamalan adds some sort of twist in between this movie and another movie that he has produced to make this movie seem kind of like a prequel or prologue to the other. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and I liked how instead of just using horror to entice the viewer, Shyamalan used both suspense with a little bit of humor mixed into it to keep the reader intrigued throughout the movie. 8/10
