Assignment 1: Claire Telfer

I'm Claire, I'm fifteen, and I live with my older brother, parents and a little white dog. I'm a swimmer for the Henry Clay swim team and the YMCA; I'm in French Club, Beta Club, and STEM Club at school. At the moment, I'm actively trying to improve my photography skills and tennis-playing ability. I don't have many hobbies but I do like to exercise as a stress reliever. I love any and all kinds of dogs, and also listening to good music that gives me goosebumps. If I could have any super power it would be invisibility because I could hear people's conversations without them knowing I'm there. My goal this year in this class is to get a 5 on the AP exam or in the least improve my writing skills. My goals outside of school are to be a better swimmer and to be more involved in the community through volunteering so I can ultimately feel like a better person.

This summer I traveled a lot and I swam. I went on college visits to Marquette, Loyola Chicago, Notre Dame, Columbia, and Villanova. I also went to Pennsylvania and Massachusetts to see family and go to a Coldplay concert. I got the chance to go to Paris and I saw the end of the Tour de France in July. My favorite moment in Paris was going out one night and seeing the city in its nightlife. I went out with some teenagers I'd met at the hotel, and at the end of the night we were trying to get home, but we realized we ran out of money. We had to walk down the Champs Elysees at three in the morning when it was completely deserted. It was my favorite part of the trip because it felt like that was Paris in its purest state when there were no other tourists or venders and shops open. This summer has shown me that I want to learn to enjoy life more, to stop and take in those moments that make you feel like you're not just a kid, and to be able to keep going through the good and the bad.

What geeks me out is stupid pictures and comedy shows. My favorite website is also an app, which is https://www.buzzfeed.com/. The best video I could think of right now is from SNL:
