Assignment 3 - Christian Lauritzen

I do not believe there is always perfect good an evil, rather a spectrum.  You can have people that are very nearly complete evil and complete good, however most people fall in the middle somewhere. Look at Luke Skywalker.  Even he wasn't complete good, in fact, if he had been, his whole plot point with overcoming his inner dark side with Yoda would've been completely irrelevant, it is because he had some evil in him that he was able to overcome that and become a Jedi.

Very few people probably even fall on the far sides.  No person is truly evil without some kind of provocation or reasoning.  Perhaps it is mental illness, perhaps it is anger, regret, fear, etc. but not true evil for the sake of being evil.  On the flip side, no person is a saint.  Everyone does bad things or makes mistakes sometimes.  It is part of human nature to not be perfect, if you can even define perfection.  It is never as simple as good and evil.
